Chippewa Twp. woman victim of fatal house fire

Police department handbooks often leave the chain of command to superior officers, but the process of where these reports go after that point can differ by individual departments.

CHIPPEWA TWP. − An evening house fire claimed the life of one township resident over the weekend.

First responders said when they arrived at 100 Woodland Road for reports of a fire around 10 p.m. Sunday, they found a woman unresponsive inside the home. Beaver County Coroner David Gabuaer later identified the victim as 67-year-old Rebecca Crawford, pronouncing her dead at the scene.

As of Thursday morning, an investigation into Crawford's cause of death was still underway. The cause of the fire is also being investigated.
