Chlöe Bailey Says Don't Talk About Her Family Despite Estranged Relationship With Parents: 'I Will Come For You'

Over the weekend, the “Surprise” singer Chloe Bailey answered speculations regarding her family and relationship with Gunna on Twitter Spaces. Bailey addressed a few things to her fans, briefly unfolding the status of the distant bond she now has with her parents, Doug and Courtney.

During a moment of truth, Bailey brought up that her relationship with her religious mother and father is estranged without mentioning why.

“And, you know, I don’t have the closest relationship with my parents. Maybe, one day, down the line, I’ll share why. But, it’s nice that I have a solid support system,” Bailey said.

The Twitter Space session arose after speaking about her support system in Godmother Shermay, who she has called “the light” in her life. Bailey explained her godmother’s tremendous help in aiding her through anxiety. The Georgia native addressed her godmother’s status in her life following remarks made about the 24-year-old captured holding her hand on a recent outing together.

“To all the people saying stuff about me holding my Godmom’s hand, guys, I suffer from anxiety. Like, you all don’t know how bad–it’s really bad!,” she explained.

“I have really, really bad anxiety. Any time [Halle] and I are together, what am I doing? I’m holding her hand. Any time I’m out with anybody–whether it’s girlfriends or something–I’m holding their hands. My Godmom is like… she is my safe haven and my safe space. And she has to stop wearing rings sometimes because I’m squeezing her hand so hard,” she added.

Bailey’s moment of truth progressed when she stated her dislike for people’s negative comments on her family.

“You all don’t know [Shermay] has been like my number-one rock and my support system when I’ve been like destructing inside. So, please, don’t talk about my sister, don’t talk about my Godmom, don’t talk about family. I will come for you! And, you know, I don’t have the closest relationship with my parents. Maybe, one day, down the line, I’ll share why. But… it’s nice that I have a solid support system,” she said.

Bailey also addressed her rumored relationship with Gunna. The two have been rumored to be linked after being spotted out at an NBA game together and after Gunna’s “You & Me” featuring Bailey music video was released.

Bailey dropped a bomb on fans and revealed that her upcoming single “For The Night” is about Gunna.

“Imma tell y’all a little secret about ‘For The Night.’ I might regret saying this, but hey, maybe it’ll help f*cking streams,” she said.“I don’t even think he knows this! I wrote ‘For The Night’ about Gunna. Yep, I said it bitches. I said it. So, you know. Yep. I wrote that song after [his]  Breakfast Club interview,” she added.

Fans loved Bailey’s transparency with them on all the questions they’ve had for a while.
