Chloe Ayling responds to new BBC series about her abduction
Chloe Ayling has opened up on the BBC commissioning Kidnapped, a six-part series based on her own experience of being kidnapped in 2017.
Written by Killing Eve's Georgia Lester, the upcoming project chronicles the Celebrity Big Brother contestant and model's time in captivity and eventual court case following her release.
Having arrived at an Italian address for what she believed to be a modelling job, Ayling was abducted by brothers Lukasz and Michal Herba. She was held inside a farmhouse for six days for a ransom of £265,000. The brothers were sentenced to jail for over 16 years in 2018, but this was later reduced to 12 and 5 years respectively.

On her story being turned into a TV show, Ayling said in a statement (via The Mirror): "I am excited that BBC Studios are telling my story and that the wider world will get to know the truth about what happened to me and learn of the many details that weren't brought to light originally.
"Georgia Lester and the team have been incredibly supportive in our conversations, and I couldn't be happier that they are making this series."
Meanwhile, Lester went on to share: "Every moment that I have spent researching this series and spending time with Chloe, learning about the ordeal she suffered both by the men who abducted her and the people who doubted her, has been shocking and infuriating. I can't wait for audiences to finally see her courage, her charm and her unwavering resilience."

Discussing Kidnapped and the dark truth that inspired it, BBC Studios head of drama Priscilla Parish also said: "This is a jaw-dropping true story of a woman who survived a horrific ordeal using her wits but was vilified in the aftermath. Georgia's scripts are exemplary in their treatment of this highly topical subject matter."
Casting and pre-production is currently underway with the series set to begin filming later this year.
Kidnapped is yet to receive a release date, but will air on BBC and BBC iPlayer.
