For more than 40 years, the voices of Cleveland County Choral Society have celebrated the Christmas season. This year the concert will be held at Central United Methodist Church in Shelby.

The church is located at 200 E. Marion St. with two concert dates: Saturday, Dec. 3 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 4 at 3 p.m.

Under the direction of Kenneth Brooks, the CCCS will perform a work, commissioned for the 40th Anniversary season, written by Joseph M. Martin.

The first half of the concert will be “Tidings of Joy,” a Celtic Christmas Celebration by Joseph M. Martin, a collection of familiar lyrics and traditional English and Irish melodies.
