CHP issues Silver Alert for a missing Placer County elderly man who’s considered at-risk
The California Highway Patrol has issued a Silver Alert for a missing, at-risk elderly Placer County man who’s been missing for three days.
Timothy Massei, 67, was last seen about 5 a.m. Sunday in Foresthill after he walked away from his home, according to the Placer County Sheriff’s Office. His family said he could be walking to Auburn, and he doesn’t have his wallet or cellphone on him.
He’s believed to be on foot and wearing denim Carhartt overalls, two light colored jackets with a vest and a brown-colored beanie, CHP said.
There are various factors that a missing person must meet before CHP says it activates a Silver Alert. They include: an individual who has gone missing under unexplained or suspicious circumstances; in danger because of age, health, mental or a physical disability; and law enforcement has used all its local resources.
