CHP: Man crushed to death after vehicle falls off jack in Shasta County
A man who was changing a tire was crushed to death by the vehicle after it fell off a jack, the California Highway Patrol said.
The incident happened in a remote area of Shasta County. According to CHP, dispatch received a call about it at around 2:30 p.m. Tuesday on Harrison Gulch Road near Platina.
When officers and paramedics arrived, they found the man, whose name has not been released, dead, the CHP said.
Investigators said drugs or alcohol do not appear to be a factor in the accident.
The CHP is still investigating and asks anyone who may have more information to call 530-225-0500.
