CHP Pursues Stolen White Van Across Orange County

IRVINE, CA — An hour-long chase between a white van and California Highway Patrol officers ended after a lengthy pursuit.

The white van, believed to be stolen, left the Garden Grove area at approximately 3 p.m. Monday. The van made its way down the 405 Freeway in the Irvine area was pursued by multiple officers.

California Highway Patrol reported a passenger earlier jumped out of the van, and it officers believed a gun was tossed out of the van window.

The chase ended in a Garden Grove neighborhood where the driver exited his idling van. The van, left in drive, continued to "slow motor" down the street, colliding with one vehicle, until it came to rest against a block wall across the street.

It's unclear what triggered the chase, which reportedly started in Garden Grove.
