Chris Boswell ruled out for Steelers vs Eagles

The Pittsburgh Steelers have ruled kicker Chris Boswell out of Sunday’s game against the Philadelphia Eagles with a groin injury, the team announced on Saturday. Boswell was originally listed as questionable to play in the team’s initial injury report on Friday.

Boswell was first listed on the Steelers injury report on Friday, when he missed practice with the previously unannounced injury. Boswell was a full participant in the team’s practices on Wednesday and Thursday before suffering the injury. The Steelers have not revealed how Boswell was injured. He finished the team’s Week 7 game against the Miami Dolphins without apparent issue.

The Steelers do not have a kicker on their practice squad at the current moment, though they will undoubtedly sign one at some point before Sunday’s 1 p.m. kickoff in Philadelphia.

Wake Forest alum Nick Sciba, who was with the team in training camp, is available. So is Matt Lambo, who was on the team’s practice squad in 2021 when Boswell suffered an injury.
