  • Chris Cuomo announced on Instagram that he would no longer do a radio show for SiriusXM.

  • Cuomo joined the satellite radio network in September 2018.

  • He was fired by CNN last week over his role in brother Andrew Cuomo's sexual harassment scandal.

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo announced Monday that he was leaving the satellite radio network SiriusXM after more than three years with the company.

In a post on Instagram, Cuomo said the "way my time ended at CNN was hard" and that he needed "to take a step back and focus on what comes next."

The post came roughly 48 hours after he was fired by CNN, which said he violated the company's ethical standards.

Transcripts released last month by the New York Attorney General's Office revealed that Cuomo played an intimate role in assisting brother Andrew Cuomo, the former governor of New York, in crafting a media response to allegations of sexual harassment. Text messages show he also used his media contacts to look into his brother's accusers.

Cuomo had hosted a weekday, two-hour program on SiriusXM since September 2018. On Monday, the show, "Let's Get After It," was hosted by former ABC News journalist Brian Ross.

A spokesperson for SiriusXM declined to comment on whether the company had itself chosen to sever its relationship with Cuomo.

"We thank Chris for his work at SiriusXM," the spokesperson said, adding that his show "will no longer air."
