Chris Evans praised by listeners on his first day at Virgin Radio
Chris Evans officially launched his new gig at Virgin Radio on Monday, much to the delight of his huge fanbase.
The 52-year-old broadcaster, gave his first Monday show at Virgin Radio, after 13 years hosting at Radio 2.
He started off the morning slot by saying: “This is our breakfast show live on Virgin Radio. It’s so great to be back at Virgin and I have to say it’s a real treat. I feel blessed and we couldn’t be more grateful.”
This was followed by a live performance of Lucky Man from Richard Ashcroft.
Evans said of the performance choice: “There’s been a lot of talk about what’s the first song I’m going to play, but of course I just press buttons, I don’t play songs.
“Musicians play music, so how about we get a musician to play a song? Feet away from me, this morning. How about Richard Ashcroft everybody?”

#virginradio, listening to Chris Evans and must say he has blown Zoe the bore totally out the water. All I need now is a better sounding device for upstairs as not multi room on sky. Welcome back Chris, have missed you for the last month😃
