Chris Packham's step-daughter has pledged her support as a crowdfunding was launched to help him clear his name of dishonest and unethical behaviour.
The wildlife presenter intends to take legal action against Fieldsports Channel Ltd over an article, video and Facebook post it published about an alleged death threat sent to the Springwatch presenter.
TV presenter and zoologist Megan McCubbin tweeted: "My stepdad @ChrisGPackham has bared the brunt of obsessive bullies who’ve burnt down his gates, thrown dead animals into his garden + sent death threats. They spread lies and hate because he stands up for wildlife. I stand by him wholeheartedly."

The Crowd Justice campaign launched by Dr Ruth Tingay aims to raise £70,000 to support 61-year-old Packham's libel lawsuit against Fieldsports Channel Ltd.

She said: "I have set up this crowd funder on his behalf because I know Chris will be reluctant to take this step himself and I think he deserves our help and support."
Tingay added that Packham only wishes to promote fundraising for wildlife charities.
In response to the claim, a spokesperson for Fieldsports Channel Ltd said: "Chris is using his private wealth to try to force a small media company out of business. He is using the high court as a cashpoint machine, even though he could have settled this with a phone call."
Packham is already embroiled in a libel case against Country Squire Magazine claiming the TV presenter fraudulently raised funds from the public in 2018 to rescue five tigers from ex-circus life in Spain. The defamation court case is scheduled to take place in the High Court in May 2023.
The Really Wild Show presenter revealed last year he had been the victim of an arson attack outside his home.
The naturalist was targeted in October last year, when people set a Land Rover on fire outside the gate of his New Forest home.

He has also spoken about receiving death threats and online abuse following his involvement in an anti-shooting campaign.
