Chris Pine’s Trending ‘Ugly’ Sandals Accent His Skinny Jeans & Wild Shirt

Chris Pine is joining in on one of summer’s biggest footwear trends.

The “Star Trek” actor ventured out for a quick coffee run in Los Angeles yesterday while managing to look as sharp as ever in a wide-brim hat, animal-print button-up shirt and cuffed dark-wash jeans. The 39-year-old kept safe with his inclusion of a black face mask to match his choice of pant.

On his feet, Pine tapped into one of this season’s top trends when it comes to shoes. His double-strap Birkenstock sandals feature the brand’s signature Birko-Flor uppers in a bright shade of white, made with skin-friendly durable fabric for long-lasting wear. For an added sustainable element, the Arizona silhouette includes a cork footbed; cork is a natural material that provides easy insulation and cushioning.

The style comes finished off with anatomically-shaped cushioning for arch support in addition to an EVA outsole, all retailing for $100 at Zappos.com.

Considered traditionally “ugly” in the fashion world, Pine joined the expansive list of celebrities (such as Heidi Klum, Katie Holmes and Kendall Jenner) switching out their sleek heels for orthopedic-looking or sport-leaning sandals like iterations from Teva, Prada and Birkenstock.

This past week, Kendall Jenner herself modeled the same design that Pine opted for yesterday. The media personality matched the double-strap sandals to a white cropped tank with coordinating high-waisted cropped pants. She then topped off the look with a Skims face mask, small-frame black sunglasses and a mini handbag.

As for Pine himself, Birkenstock isn’t the only brand you can find the actor in for off-duty wear. The “Wonder Woman” star also goes for shoes from Nike, Adidas, Toms and Converse amongst other brands. Beyond personal style, Pine has also previously appeared in a series of campaigns for Armani Code Fragrance.
