Chris Pratt has paid tribute to two of his former Everwood co-stars following their deaths.

John Beasley passed away last month aged 79, while Treat Williams died earlier this week aged 71 after being involved in a motorcycle accident.

Marvel star Pratt – who appeared on the show as Bright Abbott early in his career – shared a touching Instagram post, saying the two stars were "exceptional actors, wonderful husbands, fathers and friends".

"It’s an incredibly sad season for the cast and crew of Everwood," he began. "We’re still reeling from the loss of John Beasley and yesterday we lost Treat Williams as well.

"Both men were exceptional actors, wonderful husbands, fathers and friends. They will be missed tremendously. I learned a great deal from working with each of them."

"The Beasley family and Williams family will be in my family’s prayers," Pratt continued. "May we see you again gentlemen. God bless you. Hug your loved ones. Reach out to that person that’s been on your mind. Life is fragile, precious and finite. Embrace it and one another.

"And if you’re looking for some films to watch this week, check out Treat in Prince in the City, Hair, or Ten Things To Do in Denver When You’re Dead, and John can be seen in The Apostle, Walking Tall, and Rudy."

Beasley played the role of Irv Harper in the WB series, while Williams portrayed the main role of Andy Brown. The show follows Brown as he moves his family to the fictional small town of Everwood in Colorado after the death of his wife.

Following on from playing Bright, Pratt went on to be cast in Parks and Recreation, and has since enjoyed a huge Hollywood career in the Guardians of the Galaxy and Jurassic World franchises.
