Chris Stapleton, Way Out West, Brad Paisley and Sara Evans lead country music events

El Pasoans who feel comfortable in a pair of jeans, listening to country music and getting on the dance floor to do some two-stepping will like this news.

There are several country music artists, Grammy Award winners no less, coming to the El Paso area and New Mexico. Some of the concerts are outdoors and some are in venues. There is at least one event that is a tradition with live music, a margarita contest and even a chili challenge.

So, dust off your favorite boots and mark your calendar for these events.

Chris Stapleton at the Don Haskins Center

Grammy Award winner and country singer Chris Stapleton will bring his "All American Road Show" to the University of Texas at El Paso's Don Haskins Center, performing at 7 p.m. Wednesday.

Tickets, ranging from $139 to $488, plus fees, are on sale at Ticketmaster.com.

2023 Way Out West planned for October

The 2023 Way Out West Fest is set for Oct. 7 at Southwest University Park. The honky-tonk fiesta will include live music, a chili challenge, interactive vendor displays, retail booths and a Best Margarita contest.

No word yet on who's performing, but the tickets are not cheap, so take that into consideration. Performers in previous years have included Lee Brice and Clay Walker. Tickets already are on sale, with lower course general admission at $56 and floor tickets costing $86, excluding fees. VIP seats cost $224. Tickets are available at https://bit.ly/WOW23tickets

Sara Evans will perform at Inn of the Mountain Gods

Multiplatinum singer Sara Evans will perform at 8 p.m. April 29 at the Inn of the Mountain Gods in Mescalero, New Mexico. Doors will open at 6 p.m.

Her hits include “No Place That Far,” “Suds In The Bucket,” “A Real Fine Place To Start” and “A Little Bit Stronger.” She has earned the Academy of Country Music Top Female vocalist accolade, as well as numerous American Music, Billboard Music, Country Music Association, CMT and Grammy awards nominations.

Josh Abbott Band to perform

A staple in the Texas music scene since forming in 2006 at Lubbock’s Texas Tech University, the Josh Abbott Band will perform at 7 p.m. May 4 at Cowtown Boots, 11401 Gateway Blvd. W. It will be an evening of fun, live music and food.

Be sure to sing along to "She's Like Texas," "Oh Tonight" and "Hangin' Around." Opening will be the Abe Mac Band.

Doors open at 6 p.m. Tickets cost $39.90 and $59.90, excluding fees, and are available at jabep.com.

Brad Paisley in concert in Ruidoso

Country star Brad Paisley, who is working on a new album, will perform at 8 p.m. June 24 in an outdoor concert at the Inn of the Mountain Gods. He is promoting his new song, "Same Here."

Tickets range from $100 to $500, excluding fees, and are available at Ticketmaster.com.
