Chrissy the border collie mix has a ‘heart of gold.’ Help her find her forever home

Ready for a lifelong companion? Adoptable Chrissy is waiting to be your new best friend.

Chrissy, a 1-year-old border collie and Australian kelpie mix, was found as a stray in December and brought to the San Luis Obispo County Animal Services shelter.

With shelters full to the brim nationwide, Chrissy needs to find her forever family.

She is intelligent, energetic, loving, great with other dogs and very eager to please.

While Chrissy loves running around and could play for hours, she also enjoys cuddling with the volunteers, lounging in the shade, munching on treats and getting lots of affection.

Her intelligent nature and highly food-motivated personality have made training a breeze. She’s learned many tricks such as sit, lay down and rollover.

Being a mix of two active breeds, shelter life can be difficult for Chrissy, yet volunteers have watched her thrive outside of the kennel.

In foster care, she enjoyed going on runs, playing with other dogs, napping beside her foster parent and giving kisses.

When her foster parent ran errands, she didn’t show any signs of separation anxiety and was content staying home alone chewing a bone.

Chrissy would also wait patiently by the door when she needed to go potty.

Just like numerous other dogs waiting at the shelter, Chrissy has a heart of gold and deserves a life beyond the kennel. Will you be the one to show her all that this world has to offer?
