Chrissy Teigen has addressed online controversy surrounding her son's food preferences.

Driving the news: Teigen, 38, was on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” Thursday with Michelin-starred chef David Chang to promote their new show, “Chrissy and Dave Dine Out.” At one point, she shared that her son Miles, who is turning 6, "still not had a vegetable."

“He accidentally ate a broccoli floret in a fried rice and was so upset about it,” she said. She also shared about being in a Zoom call with his son's school when they talked about picky eaters.

On the other hand, Teigen described her 7-year-old daughter, Luna, who eats vegetables, as the "best eater." Luna was in the audience with her father John Legend.

Critics chime in: Teigen's revelation sparked critical comments on Instagram. One user wrote under People's post on the story, "So y’all have chefs at your disposal and still not one of them or you could get vegetables into your kid? Hmm. Weird flex. Ok.”

“Was he eating chicken nuggets at 1 year old? That’s your choice Chrissy,” another user commented.

Teigen responds: Speaking to Deadline at the Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, on Sunday, Teigen explained that "there’s just so much nuance to this situation" and "it’s not just vegetables."

"I can be begging him to try a root beer float and he will not try it. He doesn’t do new things very well," she told the outlet. "He’s very hard-headed, stuck in his ways with food."

About the show: “Chrissy and Dave Dine Out” follows the co-hosts and Joel Kim Booster as they take their celebrity guests — including Alexandra Daddario, Regina Hall, Kumail Nanjiani, Eric Nam and Simu Liu — on culinary adventures to top restaurants established by celebrated chefs.
