Chrissy Teigen Is Jumping on the Shag Haircut Trend

With all the knowledge Chrissy Teigen dropped on Twitter this weekend — including her hack for how to tell which celebrities are nice IRL — we almost missed the fact that she also debuted a new haircut. But mid-scroll, in between discussions about her cystic acne and Rice Krispies Treat ice cream, she also dropped in a video of her new shag cut.

The mid-length cut reaches a few inches below her shoulder. Its layers are styled into the flipped-out look that's been taking over hair salons and red carpets. (We're already predicting a lot of retro flipped-out curls this awards season.) Teigen can't keep her hands off the new hair, so it's safe to assume she's a fan as well. In fact, the only thing Teigen says in the video is "love it."

Teigen tagged colorist Tracey Cunningham, which means that the hair update included some color as well as a cut. It seems like Cunningham refreshed Teigen's sunny blonde highlights for an overall golden hue.

The shag haircut has been making the rounds in Hollywood — Courteney Cox, Sarah Hyland, and even Martha Stewart have all given it a try this year.
