Chrissy Teigen mum-shamed over Luna's first trip to dentist
Dental experts stepped in with the perfect response after Chrissy Teigen was mum-shamed after she shared a video of three-year-old daughter Luna’s first trip to the dentist.
In the video posted to Instagram, which Teigen captioned: “So proud of my toons at her first dentist appointment!!” Luna can be seen cleaning the teeth of a stuffed alligator at the dentist’s office.
However, critics soon questioned why Teigen didn’t take Luna to the dentist sooner - with many suggesting one-year-old is when children should go for their first visit.
“Can’t believe that’s her first appointment,” one person wrote.
“I’ve always heard at least by age of one or within six months after the first tooth erupts,” another person said. “Luna definitely should have seen a dentist multiple times by now as kids should go twice a year!”

Fortunately, Teigen, who faces frequent judgement for her parenting choices, seemed prepared for the misplaced negativity.
In response to the criticism, the model wrote: “Was waiting for this. U guys never fail me.”
The American Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (AAPD) stepped in to defend Teigen, commenting: “This is so great to see! Did you know that only 62 per cent of children see a dentist from age two-four? You’re helping this number grow!
“Did you also know that the majority of our paediatric dentist members are FEMALE! How cool, right?”
Another fan joked about the amount of mum-shaming in the comments, writing: “Isn’t it dangerous for her to be that close to an alligator? Very concerning Chrissy.”
