Though it might not be the first thing that jumps to mind when you think of the Duchess of Sussex or the Queen of Social Media, Meghan Markle and Chrissy Teigen have a lot in common. Both women are avowed food lovers, not to mention cookbook authors, both made appearances early in their careers with those famous silver briefcases on the show Deal or No Deal, both hold power couple status with their famous husbands and share heartwarming relationships with their moms, and both have spent quite a bit of time in the media spotlight in recent years. So maybe it shouldn't be a surprise, then, to learn that the duo are also friends.

During a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live!, Teigen responded to a fan question about whether she and Meghan are friends, saying, "She's been so kind to me ever since we connected."

Evidently the two originally got in touch over the shared grief of miscarriage—Teigen has been open about the loss of her unborn son Jack with husband John Legend last year, while Markle has likewise publicly revealed that she also suffered a miscarriage in 2020.

"She had written me about baby Jack and loss," Teigen explained on the show. "She is really wonderful, and so kind—just as kind as everyone says she is. That's why you look at everything and you're like 'My god, what is absolutely wrong with people that they have to make this person out to be so malicious or so crazy?' when it's just as simple as them being as kind as everyone says they are."

The women have apparently been in contact several times since then, including after Meghan and Prince Harry's famous interview with Oprah earlier this year. "I think she's been very honest [and] open," Teigen said, when asked if the duchess had revealed any additional details to her. "I think her truth has been her truth since the very beginning."
