Chrissy Teigen Says She Gets Mom-Shamed for This Very Surprising Reason

When she's not extolling the perks of being married to People's Sexist Man Alive, Chrissy Teigen's life involves brushing off mom-shamers. As a mother of two to Luna, 3, and Miles, 1, Teigen says that just about everything she does gets critics going, even when it seems like she's just doing normal, everyday things. In a new interview with the Today show, she says something as simple as giving her kids meat is enough to get the comments section rolling with negativity.

"Any time I post a picture of them holding ribs or eating sausage, I get a lot of criticism," she said. "Vegans and vegetarians are mad and feel that we’re forcing meat upon them at a young age. They freak out."

Teigen's shared snapshots of Miles and Luna eating meat on social media, including a recent snapshot of her son enjoying a corndog.

Other things, she adds, like giving her kids a pet or even showing images of the family together, bring out opinions that run the gamut from words of support to straight-up hate. She mentions that people will find the tiniest details in her posts and point them out as evidence that she's not being a good mom.

"If they get a glimpse of the car seat, there is a lot of buckle talk," she added. "Maybe for one half of a second, the strap slipped down. And TV is another big one. We have TV on a lot in my house. John and I work on television; we love watching television."

But, she adds, it's easy to dismiss all the bad stuff when she's having a great time being a mom. When times are good, it's easy to forget that there are people out there ready to slam her for just about anything.

"We honestly have such a good time," she said being a parent alongside her husband. "They're both at the perfect age right now where they are having conversations back with us."
