Chrissy Teigen slammed for cooking with Goya beans, a month after announcing she’d boycott the brand, over CEO’s support of Trump

Chrissy Teigen is being slammed on social media for cooking with a can of Goya beans, just a month after she vowed to boycott the brand over its CEO’s support of Donald Trump.

On Thursday, the 34-year-old model, best-selling author and television host shared on her Instagram Story a cooking tutorial for an oxtail stew.

Among the ingredients she had neatly arranged on her kitchen counter, the “Cravings” author also had a can of Goya green pigeon peas — a detail that did not go unnoticed by some of her fans, followers, and not-so-friendly faces.

“All that hype about canceling Goya yet you’re using it lol,” Twitter user Nicole Quidnunc wrote.

Another user, @Chelseamears3, asked, “Hey @chrissyteigen what happened to boycotting Goya? Lmfao Your (sic) so lame.”

Fox News contributor Rachel Campos-Duffy was quick to use the Goya slip to score some political points.

“[Teigen’s] Goya boycott lasted less than a month. Remember this CEOs when the mob comes after you. Don’t cower & cave to these virtue-signaling bullies. Stand strong. Like 1/4 u2066@GoyaFoods 1/4 u2069,” she tweeted.

Nearly a month ago, on July 9, the CEO of Goya Foods, Robert Unanue, angered many in the Hispanic community after saying that, “we’re all truly blessed” to have a president like Donald Trump.

As soon as the quote made its way into the Twittersphere, the hashtag #BoycottGoya started trending, with many in the Latin community shared their reasons why they would not longer support the brand, which calls itself the “the premier source for authentic Latino cuisine.”

Teigen, a frequent critic of the president, promptly joined the boycott, retweeting a photo of Unanue standing next to Trump in the Rose Garden.

“F****K. A shame,” the iconic Sports Illustrated Swimsuit model wrote. “Don’t care how good the beans taste though. Bye bye.”

A few days later Teigen went back on the offense, commenting on a picture tweeted by Ivanka Trump, in which she’s seen holding a can of Goya black beans, under the caption “If it’s Goya, it has to be good,” in both English and Spanish.

“[I’ve had] it with anyone who EVER defends this woman or puts her as the “sane” one in this family. what a repulsive trolling of the people. also (in the SEA of illegal s**t this family does) is this even ethically ok or legal??” Teigen wrote.
