Chrissy Teigen did not hold back in a farewell message to Donald Trump, telling the former president that “history will not be kind to you” and calling him an “absolute psychopath” as his presidency came to an end.

The Cravings author, who arrived in Washington, DC with her husband John Legend ahead of Joe Biden’s inauguration for the Celebrating America TV special, shared the message on Instagram on Wednesday, where she said the “shame will last forever”.

Sharing a photo of herself standing in front of the Washington Monument, Teigen wrote: “Today our great national f***up is over, but the shame will last forever. With two impeachments, the creation of three million LESS jobs, 403,000 dead, a record-low approval rating and god knows how many crimes, we can officially say Donald J Trump is the greatest at being the f***ing worst.

“Maybe it wasn’t such a good idea to have the guy with barely enough well done steak with ketchup fueled brainpower to power a lightbulb who doesn’t even know how to close an umbrella run the country.”

The 35-year-old concluded the post adding: “History will not be kind to you, you absolute psychopath. But I never was anyhow.”

Teigen, an outspoken critic of the former president, frequently ridiculed him on Twitter, where she had been blocked by Trump years earlier after she tweeted at him: “lol no one likes you.”

Before Biden was sworn in, however, Teigen appealed to the new president on Twitter, where she asked: “Hello @joebiden I have been blocked by the president for four years can I get a follow plz.”

After pleading her case, the official @Potus account, which only follows 12 people, most of which are White House aides and members of staff, followed Teigen.

The gesture was met with excitement from the cookbook author, who tweeted: “OH MY GOD!!!!!!!”

Teigen also shared the achievement on Instagram, where she captioned a screenshot of the president’s Twitter following: “It’s a new dawn it’s a new day, indeed!!!!!!!” in reference to the song Legend sang on inauguration night.
