AMBRIDGE — Check out Ambridge hosting yet another movie shoot.
A film crew for "The Pale Blue Eye" spent Thursday and Friday at Old Economy Village in Ambridge, capturing footage for the 1830s-set Netflix film starring Oscar-winner Christian Bale, Gillian Anderson ("The X-Files") and Harry Melling from the "Harry Potter" movies.
Melling portrays Edgar Allan Poe in the horror-thriller that also has filmed at Westminster College and at the covered bridge at McConnell's Mill Park in Lawrence County.

Scott Cooper is director, having previously worked with Bale in Beaver County sites in Koppel and Raccoon Creek State Park for 2013's "Out of The Furnace."
Ambridge has become Beaver County's "Hollywood on The Ohio," with two TV series shooting in the borough last year. Those were the Showtime drama "American Rust" starring Jeff Daniels as a police chief, and the Amazon Prime baseball drama-comedy "A League of Their Own" scheduled to premiere this year.
Katherine Heigl's 2012 film "One For The Money" put Ambridge on the map for Hollywood location scouts, who later selected the borough for two seasons of Netflix's crime drama "Mindhunter." The Ambridge Do It Best Home Center was used for Jason Momoa's "Sweet Girl" in a scene that ended up on the cutting-room floor.
"The Pale Blue Eye" tells the tale of a seasoned detective (Bale) investigating some murders, assisted by a military cadet who will become legendary horror author Poe.
Famed actor Robert Duvall also is in the cast for the film based on a novel by Louis Bayard.
