Vetle Sjåstad Christiansen gave Norway a second consecutive biathlon win in men's individual World Cup events with victory in the 10-kilometre sprint in Ruhpolding, Germany on Saturday.

Christiansen shot perfectly and completed the race in 22 minutes 27.2 seconds, defeating Italy's Tommaso Giacomel, who missed one target, by 16.9 seconds.

This was Christiansen's first individual win this season.

Tarjei Bø, second in the overall standings, was third. His brother and World Cup leader Johannes Thingnes Bø was only ninth, with one missed target.

Norway have so far dominated the event in Ruhpolding, with wins also in the women's 7.5km sprint and the men's relay. In the women's relay, however, they were 10th, while France took the win.

A women's 10km pursuit and a men's 12.5km pursuit is scheduled for Sunday.

Norway's Endre Strømsheim won the last men's individual event in the pursuit in Oberhof.
