Christie Brinkley, 69, Reveals Surprising Hair Transformation and Fans Freak Out

Christie Brinkley revealed a hair transformation in a new Instagram video.
The makeover comes after she shared a photo of her gray roots earlier this month.
“There are a few considerations that go into answering that age old question, ‘to gray or not to gray?’” she wrote.
Earlier this month, Christie Brinkley showed off gray hair in a candid ocean-side Instagram, asking fans if she should take the leap into salt-and-pepper strands or refresh her signature blonde. Naturally, her followers had lots of opinions, and now, the wait is over—Brinkley’s latest hair transformation reveals which style she sided with... for now, at least!
In a new video, the 69-year-old shared her entire visit with celebrity hairstylist Rita Hazan. “I turned to Rita to help me decide what was best for me… and there are a few considerations that go into answering that age-old question, ‘To gray or not to gray?’” she captioned the clip.
She went on to explain how her recent silver hair selfie sparked lots of conversation about going gray. “Women are really, really interested in gray hair,” she said. “I wasn’t really sure when I noticed that I had it—it’s really cool on some people to grow it out. Mine isn’t that kind of cool gray hair yet. Maybe someday.”
Ultimately, Brinkley decided it wasn’t time to make the change, and instead, opted to bring warm blonde back into her crown.
Hazan explained Brinkley’s choice. “People who are pro-gray—they are so pro-gray. And that’s fine for them. But it’s not fine for everybody. Some people just don’t wanna be gray, and that’s OK,” she said.
As Hazan and an assistant proceeded to apply color to Brinkley’s tresses, the former supermodel explained that she was “literally living” on Hazan’s Root Concealer Touch Up Sprays while she awaited her appointment.
“I used dark blonde and blonde,” she said. “I [also] love them for the top of my extensions. If I’m gonna put in an extension, I spray the dark blonde along the top of the extension, and then it blends in with my root color. That’s a tip for you, folks at home!”
Later in the clip, Brinkley unveiled a voluminous blowout, accented with honey golden highlights and a warm base blonde. She immediately felt rejuvenated, adding that the shade felt better for her skin tone, which she felt was “more-sour” next to the slate gray strands. “Not everybody can wear gray hair,” she quipped. “If you can, you’re very lucky.”
“It’s so much better,” she cheered after the reveal. “It’s so shiny too!”
Fans loved the transformation. “It looks so shiny and beautiful Christie! ☀️ I think we should all do what is right for us,” one person commented. “We define our own beauty! Loved the video! 💖” another added. “So true… to go ‘all gray’ is not for everyone!” someone else wrote.
In her caption, Brinkley also shared an update on her recent skin laser treatment, which she gave fans a behind-the-scenes peek at in another post. “In the sink shots you can see the results of my #fraxellaser from my previous post,” she wrote. “This is [five] days after treatment, you can see a couple little spots on my forehead that still need to flake off but most of my face feels smooth.”
