Christina Aguilera Pranks Donut Shop Customers with a Surprise Serenade on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Christina Aguilera had a sweet surprise for customers at Randy’s Donuts in Los Angeles on Wednesday.

The powerhouse singer and six-time Grammy winner swung by Jimmy Kimmel Live! to play a hidden camera prank on some unsuspecting shoppers. As they browsed for which donut they wanted to buy, Aguilera watched them behind a hidden camera — and sang new lyrics about them to some of her classic tracks, including “Lady Marmalade” and “Fighter.”

“There’s a guy in a Dodger’s hat/ He is here with a baby/ He just wants to eat some donuts/ And give some to the baby too,” one of her bits went, set to the tune of her first single, 1999’s “Genie in a Bottle.”

“What a guy wants/What a guy needs/He’s looking cute in his ‘Gone Fishin” tee/I wonder what kind of donut he’ll get,” she sang to another shopper, in a tune appropriately pulled from 1999’s “What a Girl Wants.”

It didn’t take long for her prank victims to catch wind that something was awry. And each time they did, Aguilera quickly popped out from behind the curtain to surprise them — donut in hand.

“I’ve been slaving away on those donut’s all day,” Aguilera told one male fan, who was there with his female friend.

“I’m literally going to pee myself” he screamed.

Aguilera’s visit to Jimmy Kimmel Live! came just days after she announced that she’ll be headlining a new Las Vegas residency show. Christina Aguilera: The Xperience, will open at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on Friday, May 31.

“I’m so excited,” Aguilera, 38, told Ellen DeGeneres, on Tuesday. “I still want to see my fans all over, but how much easier for everyone to come to one place and fill the venue with fantasy and love and excitement?”

The mother of two went on to explain that the Vegas residency has been in talks for “quite a few years,” but that she had taken a break for almost a decade to focus on mothering son Max Liron, 11, and daughter Summer Rain, 4.

Eventually, Aguilera’s desire to get back to music inspired her to tour her latest album, Liberation, last year. “I had to get back to my heart and my soul and my fans and what I love to do best,” she told DeGeneres.

Getting her feet wet with that tour — and seeing how well her kids did on the road — helped Aguilera decide that now was the time for Vegas.

“I’m a mama bear,” Aguilera said. “I love my kids, I believe in routines. If they’re happy, I’m happy… And my kids were awesome [on tour]. [Summer], she was mad at me whenever I didn’t end the show with taking her on the stage with me. It was amazing. It was in her heart. It was definitely in her blood. And my son, he would love to get up there and do the Fortnitedances.”

Vegas will “be a little easier with the kids,” admitted Aguilera, who is engaged to fiancé Matthew Rutler.

Currently, 16 performances of Aguilera’s Vegas residency are scheduled — from May 31 through June 16, and Sept. 20 through Oct. 5. All shows begin at 9 p.m.

Tickets, starting at $60, go on sale Saturday at 10 a.m. PT.

The Xperience is going to be my most ambitious show yet,” Aguilera said in a statement. “Getting to perform in this adult playground we call Las Vegas is inspiring me to bring forth all of my talents in a mind-blowing theatrical experience – song, dance, visuals and uninterrupted high energy.”

“For years I have been collecting ideas and concepts that have yet to be implemented on my stages, and Las Vegas is the perfect opportunity for me to collectively showcase my artistry,” she continued. “I cannot wait to bring you into The Xperience.”

Liberation was Aguilera’s first new studio album since 2012’s Lotus.

Her setlist from her Liberation Tour included many tunes from the album — like “Fall in Line,” “Maria,” and “Accelerate” — as well as old favorites like “Fighter,” “Beautiful,” “Ain’t No Other Man,” “Genie in a Bottle,” “Lady Marmalade,” “Dirrty,” and “Can’t Hold Us Down.”

Aguilera was last on stage to ring in 2019 for a live performance from New York City’s Times Square that was broadcast on ABC’s Dick Clark’s New Years Rockin’ Eve.
