Christmas 2020 Grocery Store Hours In The Seattle Area

SEATTLE — Christmas is likely to look different this year as millions of Americans opt to stay home, marking the holiday with smaller celebrations amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Smaller celebrations, however, don’t necessarily mean we’ll bypass holiday traditions. And when it comes to Christmas dinner, a pandemic is certainly unlikely to stop us from forgetting that one key ingredient needed to make a perfect holiday meal.

Have no fear — there are a few grocery stores that will be open on Christmas Day for those emergency and last-minute shopping trips in Washington.

Here are the hours for grocery stores that will be open, along with a list of those that won’t:

Open on Christmas:

  • Safeway: Most stores are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call ahead to confirm hours.

  • Albertson’s: Most locations are open from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m. Christmas Day.

  • Rite Aid: Most locations will be open Christmas Day, but hours will vary. Call ahead to confirm hours.

  • CVS: Most locations are open from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Christmas Day.

  • QFC: Check the website or call ahead for specific store hours.

  • Walgreen’s: Selected locations are open from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Christmas Day. Call ahead to confirm hours with your local store.
