It’s that glorious time of year when snowflakes shimmer in the air and Christmas music plays in most businesses.
From holiday events to specialty menus, it’s the perfect time of year to enjoy all things Christmas − especially Christmas beer.
Many Stark County breweries have Christmas and holiday beers out now. Some are even available in to-go cans and packs. What’s better than that?
Here’s a rundown of the Stark County-made Christmas and holiday beers available this season at local breweries.
Aeonian Brewing Co.
Location: 120 W. Chestnut St., Alliance
Beer: Replacement Santa
What the brewery says: “Replacement Santa is a spiced ale with a balanced malt backbone and notes of all of your favorite Christmas spices. It will replace all of the other Santas in your life.”
ABV: 7.8% ABV and 24 IBU
Special note: Replacement Santa is available on tap and in cans.
Release date: Mid-November
Beer: Barrel Aged Replacement Santa
What the brewery says: “We aged Replacement Santa in maple bourbon barrels for a year. The result has notes of oak, maple, holiday spices and bourbon. BA Santa is sure to keep you warm during the cold Ohio winter.”
ABV: 9.2% ABV, 24 IBU

Beer: Unparalleled Glory
What the brewery says: “The snap of a few spices, a quick whiff of honey and the beer blazed forth in Unparalleled Glory. Based on one of Jason's first homebrew recipes and refined over the last 12 years, our take on this holiday tradition is brewed with honey, fresh ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg.”

Beer: Pimp My Sleigh
What the brewery says: “Belgian-Style Christmas Ale with intricate aromas and flavors of sweet dark malt, dark fruit, raisins, figs, anise and spicy phenols.”

Beer: Mule-Tide Carol (Oscar's Kick-ass Winter Ale). “Named after one of our farm’s favorite animals of all time.”
What the brewery says: “Not your typical ‘Christmas Ale.’ This Belgian Dubbel-style ale was brewed with cinnamon, nutmeg and allspice. Spicy phenols from the Belgian ale yeast work well with the additional spicing for a delicious brew you can enjoy all winter long.”

What the brewery says: “We don't have a specific Christmas beer. However, we have created a cranberry cinnamon syrup for our Berliner Weisse. Our Berliner Weisse is a slightly sour beer. Refreshing on its own, our cranberry cinnamon syrup adds a taste of the holidays.”

What the brewery says: “Our yule offering stands among the least timid of its bretheren and festooned with a complex spiciness born of 16 traditional (cinnamon, nutmeg) and not-so-traditional (heather tips, rosemary, cardamom) spices supported by a hefty Scotch-style ale. With a cinnamon-sugar rim or without, Yuletide is properly served garnished with two cranberries skewered by a sprig of rosemary laid across the rim of a tulip glass.”

UnHitched Brewing Co.

Beer: Beautiful Vision (Imperial Oatmeal Stout)
What the brewery says: “This second iteration of this beer adheres to our philosophy of sourcing within a 400-mile footprint of the brewery, utilizing malt from Sugar Creek Malts in Lebanon, Indiana, and West Branch Malts in Brunswick, Ohio, as well as Spicebush berries picked in Ohio. This medium-body stout drinks smoothly with notes of creamy dark chocolate and spice notes of all-spice, pink peppercorn and cinnamon.”
ABV: 7.7%
