Christmas at Brinkerhoff Mansion, comedy show among events this weekend in Springfield
From holiday festivities to a night of laughs and soul, there's plenty to do in Springfield this weekend.
Here are five events to check out:
Black Futures: Mixtape side 1
Experience the music of emerging area Black artists at the Black Futures mixtape release on Friday.
The event, part of the UIS Our Stage Our Voice series, will take place at 7:30 p.m. at the UIS Performing Arts Center Studio Theater, 1 University Plaza.
A variety of artists will perform. There will be spoken word and musical work that featured artist Reggie Guyton has developed during his UIS residency.
Tickets are $15.

Donnie B's Comedy Show starring Jodie White
Embrace nonstop laughs Friday and Saturday at Donnie B's Comedy Show starring Jodi White.
The show will take at 8 p.m. Friday and 7:30 p.m. Saturday at Casey’s Pub, 2200 Meadowbrook Road.
There will be a full cocktail service and food will be available. Seating is limited.

Christmas at the Brinkerhoff Mansion
Shop or make a custom holiday gift on Saturday at Christmas at the Brinkerhoff Mansion, 1500 N. Fifth St.
The event will take place from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
There will be live music, vendors, and craft making activities. Pictures with Santa Claus will be available.

Ptah Williams Trio Live
Listen to the soulful sounds of the Ptah Williams Trio live on Saturday.
The show will begin at 8 p.m. at Anchors Away, 518 E. Capitol Ave.
St. Louis pianist Ptah Williams will perform alongside bassist Willem von Hombracht and guitarist Jose Gobbo. Food and drinks will be available for purchase.
There is no cover charge.

Sip & Shop
Browse holiday merchandise while enjoying a drink Sunday at the Danenberger Family Vineyards Sip and Shop.
The event will begin at noon at Danenberger Family Vineyards, 12341 Irish Road, New Berlin.
A variety of retail vendors will be present and wine, beer and other mixed drinks will be available. Soups and salads can be purchased.
