Christmas Eve was the coldest December day since 2010
Dec. 25—The weather outside may not be frightful but it certainly was cold on Christmas Eve.
A strong cold front with arctic air mass behind dropped the temperature to 15 degrees early Saturday morning, the lowest temperature recorded in the Aiken area in December since a low of 15 degrees Dec. 14, 2010.
The lowest December temperature ever recorded in Aiken was 4 degrees on Christmas Day and Dec. 26, 1983. The lowest temperature ever recorded in Aiken was -4 degrees on Jan. 21, 1985.
The National Weather Service calls for continued warming throughout next week.
