A Christmas Fair kicks off holiday season

Get in the spirit of Christmas with the Junior League of El Paso’s A Christmas Fair Friday through Sunday at the El Paso convention center. Shopping hours will be 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday. General admission is $15 for ages 12 and up, $14 for kids, 6-12, seniors, military and college students. Greet Santa at Cabela's

Santa Claus will make his grand entrance at 5 p.m. Saturday at Cabela's 6450-10 Desert Blvd. North. He will be arriving in a vintage WWII Army Jeep. There will be fun tailgate event with free hot cocoa and treats as well as a scavenger hunt. Cub Scouts also will be singing carols.

Honor veterans at annual Veterans Day Parades

The 26th annual Veterans Day Parade and Ceremony will be Saturday in historic San Elizario. The parade will start at 9 a.m. Saturday at Thompson Road East and onto Main Street. The ceremony with special guests and candle lighting will be at 10:30 a.m.

Anime lovers to convene at AnimeFest

El Paso anime lovers will be convening at Chicho’s second AnimeFest from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at Bassett Place Mall.

Experience the Bosque in special performances

UTEP’s Rubin Center for the Visual Arts in collaboration with the UTEP Center for Environmental Resource Management will present Experiencing the Bosque: A Performance at Rio Bosque Wetlands Park at 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. Saturday. The shows will be at the Rio Bosque Wetlands Park, 10716 Socorro Road. Free.

The performance is the culmination of the first phase of Experiencing the Bosque, a multigenerational project integrating community organizing, art-making and environmental stewardship through the activity of creating performances together. The artistic lead on the project is Visiting Assistant Professor Sandra Paola López Ramírez, a dancemaker and performance activist who specializes in creating works that address social and environmental issues in relationship to various communities.

Don't miss 'Michelangelo's Sistine Chapel' tour

"Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition," a self-guided tour, will run through Jan. 1 at Sunland Park Mall. The tour features fabric graphics that are about 80% of the life-size artwork from the Sistine Chapel ceiling at the Vatican. Hours: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Tuesdays through Sundays. Yuridia coming in concert

The Mexican singer who started her career in the reality entertainment show, La Academia, will bring her Pa' Luego es Tarde USA tour to El Paso, with a performance at 8:30 p.m. Nov. 11 at the El Paso County Coliseum. Tickets, ranging from $35 to $150, plus fees, available at Ticketmaster.com and the Coliseum Box Office.

Carden Circus Spectacular celebrates 60 years

The Carden Circus Spectacular will be in town for six performances Nov. 18-20 at the El Paso County Coliseum. Performances will be at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 18, 11 a.m., 3 and 7:30 p.m. Nov. 19, and noon and 6 p.m. Nov. 20. Tickets are at www.spectacularcircus.com or one hour before show time. General Admission tickets are $10 for children 12 and under, $25 for adults with a limited number of $30 reserved seating and $35 VIP floor seat tickets available.
