CHRISTMAS FAIRS: Local holiday markets pop up

Nov. 3—FRIDAY-SATURDAY

ELLINGTON — The Ellington Congregational Church, 72 Main St., will hold its 60th annual Farmhouse Fair on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. New this year is an American Colonial Period Broom Squire with demonstrations and products for sale.

The Farmhouse Café offers dine-in or take-out: Friday dinner, 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday lunch, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Credit cards will be accepted.

—ELLINGTON — St. Luke Church, 141 Maple St., will hold its annual Christmas Bazaar on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be free children's activities, gift items from St. Luke crafters, a country store, lunch and dinner, and more.

MANCHESTER — South United Methodist Church, at the corner of Hartford Road and Main Street, will have its Hi Ho Holiday Fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be Thanksgiving and Christmas crafts and gifts and homemade goodies. Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

—MANCHESTER — Saint Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 27 South Adams Street South, will have a Christmas bazaar and tag sale Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

There will be Christmas decor, jewelry, bake sale, handmade crafts, and more.

—VERNON — Trinity Lutheran Church, at the corner of Route 30 and Meadowlark Road, will have its annual TLC Marketplace on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The church donates most of its proceeds to community services such as the Tri-Town Shelter, Hockanum Valley Community Council, Tri-Town Pantry, and Cornerstone Foundation; national and worldwide charities.

The fair will feature local craft vendors, attic treasures, cafe, and more.

HARTFORD — The Ladies Guild of SS. Cyril and Methodius Church and the Polish Cultural Club of Greater Hartford will jointly host a Holdiay Bazaar with a Polish Flair on Nov. 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SS. Cyril and Methodius Church, 63 Popieluszko Court, directly behind the rectory at 55 Charter Oak Ave. and across the street from the Polish National Home.

SATURDAY-DEC. 19

ELLINGTON — The Holiday Marketplace at the Nellie McKnight Museum, 70 Main St.,will open for the holiday season on Saturday.

The marketplace features a holiday boutique; the Mercantile offers Ellington-themed gifts and products by local artisans; the Vintage Wares Barn houses household items.

Proceeds support the Ellington Historical Society.

The Holiday Market Place will be open Saturdays through Dec. 18 and Black Friday, Nov. 25, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.; Sundays, Nov. 27 to Dec. 19, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

VERNON — Arts Center East, 709 Hartford Turnpike, will present its annual Holiday Artisan Craft Fair two weekend, showcasing local and regional artisans and celebrating the season.

Browse and shop for items from more than 50 artisans. The handmade merchandise includes toiletries and self-care items, wood crafts, and home décor. The suggested maximum retail value is around $100, with most items priced less than $50.
