Christmas in July? Tickets for popular Cambria holiday market go on sale

Already sick of the summer heat?

Tickets just went on sale for the 12th Annual Cambria Christmas Market, running Nov. 24 through Dec. 23.

“It’s the second most wonderful time of the year: Christmas in July!” organizers wrote in a July 6 Facebook post. “If you need a break from the warm summer weather, now is the perfect time to plan your cool winter getaway.”

Held during the holiday season at Cambria Pines Lodge, the popular event features more than two million holiday lights illuminating a meandering path and vignettes, with selfie-worthy attractions including a rainbow tunnel and a light display inspired by the Golden Gate Bridge.

Artisan vendors, a fun train ride, cozy fire pits, live music, food and drink add to the seasonal atmosphere. Visitors can even meet Santa Claus.

Except for the final week, the event is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. On those nights, the market is closed and the light show is available only for guests of Cambria Pines Lodge and other Moonstone Hotel Properties hotels.

“Trust us, you won’t want to wait to plan your visit,” the Facebook post read. “Tickets and overnight stays are going fast!”

Tickets for the Cambria Christmas Market cost $15 to $35 each, depending on the day, and can be purchased via Eventbrite.com. Kids 5 and under are free.

Those planning an overnight stay at Cambria Pines Lodge, Sea Otter Inn or J. Patrick House & Inn in Cambria during the holiday season can book a Cambria Christmas Market package, which includes event admission.

‘Christmas Carol’ comes to life in Cambria

Ahead of the Cambria Christmas Market, get a jump start on the season with a special production of “A Christmas Carol.”

English actor Gerald Charles Dickens will bring the holiday classic written by his great-great-grandfather, Charles Dickens, to life in four separate performances, Nov. 11 and 12 at Cambria Pines Lodge.

The show is not affiliated with the Christmas Market.
