Main Street was full of smiles, cheer and Christmas spirit on Saturday night as Merced held its Christmas Tree Lane “reverse parade.”
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, parade organizers improvised for a second year and opted for a drive-through parade.
There were displays, performances and floats lined up on both sides of Main Street as parade-goers drove through downtown Merced in their vehicles.
People were treated to displays set up by first responders, car clubs, youth dance groups. local businesses and clubs. There was also a variety of Christmas music as viewers drove past the different displays.
Main Street was lit up with a dazzling display of lights, plus Santa Claus was on hand to wave to people as their cars passed by Bob Hart Square.
