Christmas-themed bars once again hit the scene in Columbia. Here are a couple

Holiday-themed bars are returning to two of Columbia’s key hospitality districts for the Christmas season.

The Venue, a dueling piano bar at 1626 Main St. in downtown Columbia, announced the coming arrival of A Not So Silent Night, a holiday-themed pop-up bar. Spokeswoman Mary Kate Spires said the holiday event at The Venue will begin Thursday, Dec. 1, and will last throughout the month.

“The team will be decorating the entire restaurant to be festive and celebrate the season,” Spires said. “We will also have a holiday cocktail list with our bartenders’ take on traditional favorites.”

The idea of a Christmas pop-up bar on Main Street isn’t unusual. Last year the Miracle on Main Christmas pop-up operated in the former Main Street Public House at 1556 Main St. There currently are no indications Miracle will return to that space this holiday season. The only Miracle-branded holiday bar in South Carolina currently listed on that company’s website is at Southernside Brewing in Greenville.

Meanwhile, at least one bar in Five Points also has heavy holiday vibes this year.

Publico Kitchen + Tap at 2013 Greene St. in Five Points has been decked out in lights and decorations for its Santa’s Pub theme.

“It’s the most wonderful time of year at the most wonderful place,” Publico said in a Facebook post, which included a photo of the inside of the bar veritably blanketed in colorful lights and holiday decor. “Celebrate with your friends and fam this holiday season with us at Santa’s Pub!”
