This year, Ukrainians officially celebrated Christmas throughout the country according to the Western calendar, from Dec. 24 to Dec. 25.

●     General Zaluzhnyi extends Christmas greetings to the Ukrainian military
Ukraine’s top general, Valerii Zaluzhnyi, has extended Christmas greetings to the Ukrainian military on Dec. 25, on Telegram.

●     Russian propagandist Krasovsky, advocate of killing Ukrainian children, reportedly poisoned
Russian propagandist Anton Krasovsky, known for advocating the genocide of Ukrainians and the killing of Ukrainian children, has reportedly been poisoned, according to Ukrainian English-language newspaper Kyiv Post, citing sources in Ukraine’s HUR military intelligence service on Dec. 25.

●     Putin signals desire to halt hostilities to thwart Western aid, says ISW
Reports indicating Russian dictator Vladimir Putin’s interest in ending the war are in fact a ploy to impede and disrupt further military aid to Ukraine from Western allies, the U.S.-based think tank Institute for the Study of War (ISW) wrote on Dec. 23.

●     Delivery app Glovo reveals Ukrainian ordering trends in 2023
An analysis of orders booked for 2022-2023 with delivery app Glovo reveals that this year, Ukrainians placed 73% more orders from restaurants, supermarkets, and non-food stores than last year. Ukrainian cuisine has become one of the most popular genres, with Ukraine’s traditional borsch ranking fourth on the list of most popular dishes.

●     Ukraine Air Force comments of destruction of 3 Russian Su-34 fighters, gives their approximate cost
The spokesman for the Air Force of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Yuriy Ihnat, commented on Ukrainian national television on Dec. 22 on the destruction of three Russian Su-34 fighter-bombers on the southern front, calling it a "brilliantly planned operation."

●     Ukrainian Air Force confirms downing of two more Russian fighter-bombers
Two Russian fighter-bombers, a Su-34 and a Su-30, were shot down on Dec. 24, the Ukrainian Air Force reported, confirming the downing of the Su-30 in question.
 

●     British minister chides London mayor for refusing donation of scrapped cars to Kyiv
UK Secretary of State Michael Gove Secretary of State for Leveling Up, Housingб and Communities has asked London Mayor Sadiq Khan to transfer written-off cars to Ukraine that are to be scrapped anyway, in an open letter published on Dec. 21.

Oleh Katkov, editor-in-chief of the Defense Express military portal, told NV about the capabilities of Ukraine’s new AQ-400 Scythe long-range kamikaze drone and which enemy targets it will likely be used against.

A central bank assessment of the Ukrainian banking system's resilience indicates that the financial services market has passed the peak of the crisis triggered by Russia’s full-scale invasion, reads the regulator’s latest Financial Stability Report, released on Dec. 22.

The documentary 'From Where to Where’, by Polish director Maciek Hamela, has made the shortlist for nominations for the 96th Oscar Awards, the American Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences announced on Dec. 21.
