Christmastime in TV Land: The best Christmas-themed episodes for every occasion

This time of year, it's all about the Hallmark Christmas movies and the classics like Home Alone and The Santa Claus. However, TV shows have some of my absolute favorite holiday classics and I always look forward to re-watching them while I wrap presents or decorate the tree.

While streaming services will be suggesting all of the typical entertainment options for your viewing pleasure, why not take a look at my list of what I consider to be the best television Christmas-themed episodes.

My personal three belong to comedy sitcoms, I love a good mix of laughter and something heartwarming.

I'm a huge fan of New Girl and the first Christmas episode of the series "The 23rd" (Season 1, Episode 9 on Netflix) gives me all the laughs and feelings. The gang finds themselves in a series of personal predicaments. The ending is my favorite as it shows the crew all screaming at the sleeping residents of the Candy Cane Lane Christmas light display to turn their lights back on for Jess and it really shows how much this crew cares for one another. I absolutely love Brooklyn 99's "Yippie Kayak" (Season, Episode on Hulu) as it finds Jake, Charles and Gina involved in a real-life "Die Hard" (yes, it is a Christmas movie) situation while off-duty on Christmas Eve. Lastly, Bob's Burgers "The Bleakening (Parts 1 & 2)" (Season 8, Episodes 6 & 7 on Hulu) takes my final spot. These episodes have everything, Christmas spirit, a secret rave, a mystery trying to be solved, a Krampus-like creature and guest appearances from Todrick Hall and Adam Driver.

• 30 Rock "Ludachristmas" (Season 2, Episode 9) on Netflix, Hulu and Peacock.

• The Office "Classy Christmas" (Season 7, Episodes 11 & 12) on Peacock.

• Community "Regional Holiday Music" (Season 3, Episode 10) on Netflix.

Episodes to warm your heart

• Full House "Our Very First Christmas Show" (Season 2, Episode 9) on Amazon Prime.

• Boy Meets World "Santa's Little Helper" (Season 1, Episode 10) on Disney+.

• The Golden Girls "Have Yourself a Very Little Christmas" (Season 5, Episode 12) on Hulu.

• Family Matters "Christmas is Where the Heart Is" (Season 5, Episode 11) on HBO Max.

• The Andy Griffith Show "The Christmas Story" (Season 1, Episode 11) on Amazon Prime.

However you choose to spend your holiday, sometimes you just want to gather around the tv and check out from reality and maybe even get some ideas for new traditions.
