CUBA —The Canton High School Class of 1981 Foundation will be holding a charity golf outing at Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills Country Club  Saturday, July 23. Proceeds for the inaugural Shoot ‘Fore’ a Giant Education will go towards at least one scholarship for a CHS 2023 graduate.

The Foundation recently awarded a $5,000 scholarship to this year's CHS scholarship winner.

This year's golf outing will have a ‘shot gun’ start at 12:30 p.m. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. Prizes will be provided for the Longest Drive, Closest to the Pin, chipping, and skins game competitions. Details will be communicated the day of the outing.

The following sponsorship donations are being accepted: Little Giant Sponsorship for $1,000 which will include a banner with company/organization name, Purple & Gold Sponsorship for teams participating for a corporation or organization for $300 which will include your company/organization name on the golf cart, and a Little Giant Hammer hole sponsorship for $100 which will include your company/organization on a sign which will be present at one of the 18 Wee-Ma-Tuk Hills tee boxes.

The registration fee is $75 per player or $300 per foursome. The Foundation and Wee-Ma-Tuk's pro shop can provide assistance for solo players needing to be grouped with other solo players to create a foursome. Please make checks payable to: "CHS Class of 1981 Foundation" and mail the submission form to P.O. Box 622, Canton, IL 61520.

The planning committee members are Becky McLeod, Kari Franzoni, Jyl Barnard, Marta McCullum, Margo Rumler Lillie, and Larrilyn Hall (Wee-Ma-Tuk representative).

The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity established in 2020 to support the improvement and well-being of the citizens of Canton and its surrounding community. Youth development, human services, education assistance, and prevention of abuse remain the Foundation's focus.
