Band coming to Ottawa Lake church

OTTAWA LAKE – The band Rend Collective is coming to Crossroads Community Church as part of its 10th anniversary tour. It will perform at 7 p.m. Nov. 2 at the church.

Public Rosary Oct. 21

LAMBERTVILLE – Members of St. Anthony Catholic Church will pray the Rosary at noon Oct. 21 at the Lambertville Kroger store. Attendees will gather at 11:45 a.m. at the store.

"We will begin the Angelus at noon and follow with praying the Rosary," the church's worship commission said. "What a wonderful witness of our faith as we offer the prayers of the many needs of our families, our church and our country."

Programs on Catholic funerals

Area Catholic churches are offering programs on Catholic funerals and funeral pre-planning.

The program “From Death to Burial: A Catholic Perspective” will be offered from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 30 in the St. Mary Catholic Church’s Parish Life Center, 127 N. Monroe St.

Jon O’Hara, advance funeral planner for Great Lakes Partnership, will discuss “redefining funeral pre-planning.” The program is sponsored by Bacarella Funeral Home.

Ted Butkin from Catholic Funeral and Cemetery Services will speak after Masses Nov. 11-12 at St. Mary Parish Life Center.

He will speak after 4:30 p.m. Mass Nov. 11 and after 7:30 and 10 a.m. Masses Nov. 12. Refreshments will be served. The program are sponsored by the Archdiocese of Detroit.

Funeral planning from the perspective of the local Family of Parishes will take place from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Nov. 13 at St. Mary Parish Life Center.

Bereavement ministries, Stephen Ministry, and local and AOD pastoral staff will speak.

The Family of Parishes includes St. Anne, St. Charles, St. John, St. Mary and St. Michael.

All Souls Day, interment of cremains Nov. 2

Gather Them Home, an Archdiocese of Detroit program that inters cremains on sacred ground at no cost, will take place at 2 p.m. Nov. 2, All Souls Day, at the Chapel of Light Mausoleum at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Monroe.

The Rev. David Burgard, pastor of Sts. Mary and John Catholic churches, will preside.

Radio program Sunday

“Matching Pace” is this Sunday’s theme for Lutheran Hour Ministries’ radio program “The Lutheran Hour.”

“Hear about the savior who walks beside us, at our pace, and teaches us to walk with others (Psalm 96:13),” the ministry said.

Host is the Rev. Michael Zeigler.

“The Lutheran Hour” airs at 7 a.m. Sundays on WPOS (103.1) and on WRDT (560) at noon Sundays. It is broadcast on more than 800 North American stations.
