Church to host worship service on Depot Green

Sep. 27—A Community Night of Worship will offer encouragement and unity through music and drama.

God's Powerhouse Christian Center will present the worship event 7 p.m. Saturday at Depot Green.

Children's pastor and worship team member Judy Villalobos called the event a great opportunity for the community.

"We want to be able to bring the community together beyond the walls of the church house, meet at the Depot Green to celebrate our faith," she said. "A lot of times churches just stay amongst themselves. This is a way to say, hey, let's come together. We want to see Muskogee do great things. We want to be a part of that."

The church's praise and worship team will lead music. The drama team also will perform.

Villalobos described the drama team's presentation as "something that will end up uplifting you and encouraging you that there's hope, no matter what your circumstances."

Pastor Danny Scott will deliver a small message.

"We live our daily lives, and we're just bombarded with things at times," Villalobos said. "We just want to be there to uplift and encourage the community. It's not specific to any one church, we just want to welcome anyone from the community and surrounding area."

Villalobos said there also will be some food trucks.
