Church set to host blood drive in Newport New

NEWPORT NEWS, Va. (WAVY) — The World Mission Society Church of God is hosting a blood drive in Newport News on Sunday, April 14.

The American Red Cross is in an emergency blood shortage. About 100 volunteers are expected to participate in donating blood in Newport News for individuals in New York City. The event will also include giveaways, a barbeque, a bounce house, face painting and guest speakers. The event goes from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at 201 Menchville Rd.

Church of God volunteers are participating in the blood drive to raise awareness of the New Covenant Passover, which will be celebrated later in the month, a release states.
