Church tours to mark 300th anniversary of Tulpehocken settlement [Religion Digest]

Apr. 22----St. John's (Hain's) United Church of Christ, 591 N. Church Road, Lower Heidelberg Township, will participate in the 300th anniversary of the Tulpehocken settlement's church tour next Saturday from 1-5 p.m. Tours of the church and cemetery will be given on the half-hour starting at 1. The last tour begins at 4. A cemetery listing of over 7,600 recorded burials at Hain's will be available, including the names of soldiers who served in the Revolutionary War and Civil War.

—Zion Evangelical Congregational Church, 57 N. Church St., Mohnton, will be celebrating its annual Spring Rally Day on Sunday at 9 a.m. Debi Wahl, a local artist, will be presenting her message through scripture and song.

—Calvary United Church of Christ, 1231 Route 100, Washington Township, will hold an indoor and outdoor flea market next Saturday from 8-11 a.m., with a 25 cent sale and basket raffle. Outside vendor spaces are $10. Register at www.calvaryuccbarto.com by Wednesday.

—Christ Lutheran Church, 222 Niantic Road, Washington Township, will hold coffee and conversation at 8:30 and 10 a.m. on Sunday in the Welcome Center.

—The youth group from The United Church of Christ of Robesonia, 301 W. Penn Ave., will do roadside cleanup in Robesonia today. Call 610-621-5770 for details. Bible studies will be held on Tuesday at 9 a.m. by Zoom and on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. by Zoom or in person. On Thursday, the Children's Clothing Closet is open from 4-6 p.m. or call to make an appointment at other times. Clothing is free. A community free meal is held at the same time, eat in or take out.

—The Reading Symphony Jr. String Orchestra, under the direction of Brian Mishler, will provide prelude, offertory and postlude music at the 10:30 a.m. service on Sunday at Reformation Lutheran Church, 3670 Perkiomen Ave., Exeter Township. The Reading Pops Big Band will present a free concert, in the sanctuary tonight at 7.

—Pianist Harriet Rauenzahn presents a recital of her favorite works today at 3 p.m. at Calvary United Church of Christ, 640 Centre Ave., Reading. Among the works being performed are compositions of J.S. Bach, Beethoven, Debussy, Respighi and Curaçaoan composer Wim Statius Miller. The entire freewill offering collected will be given to the United Church of Christ's relief efforts in Ukraine.

—St. John's Lutheran Church, 45 N. Reading Ave., Boyertown will offer a free drive-through takeout meal today from 4:30-6:30 p.m. No registration necessary.

—St. Paul's United Church of Christ, 5 W. Arch St., Fleetwood, will have a coffee hour in the social room after the 9 a.m. worship service on Sunday.

—People with special needs/IIDD, their friends and family are invited to the Berks Festival of Faith free supper and worship service at Bern Lutheran Church, 820 West Leesport Road, Bern Township on Tuesday. The meal of ground beef and macaroni and rice and beans prepared by members of Christ Lutheran Church in Reading be served from 4:30-5:30 p.m. The Easter worship service will begin at 5:45.

—Sally Wilcox will present a viewing of Julie Tamor's production of Mozart's "The Magic Flute," with comments, on Sunday morning at 9 in the parlor at Christ Episcopal Church, 435 Court St., Reading. Parking is available at the Abe Lincoln parking garage and M&T Bank lot, both off of Washington Street. Handicap spaces are available beside the church on Court Street.
