Any trolls who thought they could shame Ciara with unsolicited comments on the totally see-through dress she wore to the Vanity Fair Oscars party on March 12 are about to be disappointed. The “Goodies” singer has already posted a pitch-perfect response to the haters on her TikTok, and she is very much not here for the nonsense. 

“Selective outrage 😭,” she captioned the video, which showed the pop star draped in a sheet and pretending to pose for photos on the red carpet. “POV: How I'm pulling up to Vanity Fair next year 😂,” Ciara titled the 9-second clip.

While sheer dresses continue to have a moment on red carpets these days, there's no denying that Ciara's naked dress went the extra mile. She paired the halter-neck mesh gown with just a thong underneath and a pair of black opera gloves to accessorize, leaving little to the imagination. She looked unbelievable, of course, and while the outfit generated plenty of trollish commentary, let's not forget the stans of the look either. 

“99.99% of women couldn’t wear what Ciara wore and that’s why y’all mad. Period,” wrote one supporter on Twitter. “Date someone who looks at you the way Russell looks at Ciara 🫶🏾,” another person tweeted, with a photo of Ciara posing on the carpet while her husband Russell Wilson looks on. Another approving fan tweeted, “Ciara the queen of setting the internet on fire and not giving a single f*ck. Sis on her Instagram talking about skin care like y’all aren’t currently livid about this dress. We have to stan.”
