CIDC receives marketing money

Jul. 17—CLOVIS — The Clovis Industrial Development Corporation (CIDC) has received $12,500 for marketing activities targeting business recruitment from the New Mexico Economic Development Department (EDD), according to an EDD news release.

The funds to the CIDC come from $260,000 that the EDD awarded to 15 economic development organizations statewide for fiscal 2022, which ends June 30, 2022, through EDD's Local Economic Assistance and Development Support program.

LEADS funding is "intended to create jobs through recruitment, retention, expansion, and startup activities; develop the tax base; and provide incentives for business development," the news release said.

To qualify, an organization must be part of an economic development effort that includes public and private sector participation and has demonstrated ability to produce growth; have a current local economic development plan and marketing program; and be located in communities that have approved Local Economic Development Act ordinances.
