Cincinnati Bearcats offensive linemen O'Quinn, Renfro named to Outland Trophy watch list

University of Cincinnati offensive linemen Jake Renfro and Dylan O'Quinn earned spots on the preseason watch list for the Outland Trophy, presented annually to the top interior lineman in college football.

The Football Writers Association of America on Tuesday announced the list that includes 87 offensive and defensive linemen and Renfro and O'Quinn, who both earned first-team All-American Athletic Conference honors last season.

Renfro, a 6-foot-3, 308-pound junior, started all 14 games at center in 2021. Renfro has 20 starts over the last two seasons in the middle of the Bearcats offensive line.

O'Quinn, a 6-foot-4, 305-pound senior who began his Cincinnati career as a tight end, started all 14 games last season at right tackle.

Renfro and O'Quinn led an offensive line that anchored a UC offense that averaged the ninth-most yards per play (6.71) in the country. Cincinnati allowed 53 tackles-for-loss all season (seventh-fewest nationally). The Bearcats set single-season school records for touchdowns (70) and points (516) in 2021.
