The Cincinnati Bengals and Betfred announced a multi-year partnership Wednesday to make Betfred the team’s official sports betting partner.

The Bengals applied for a Type A sports-betting proprietor license in Ohio during the Ohio Casino Control Commission's initial application window (June 15 through July 15), allowing partnership with one or two service providers in sharing in the sports-betting apps' profits.

"The Bengals continue to look for exciting new ways to enhance the fan experience and this partnership will provide additional opportunities to engage with our fans," Bengals Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer Brian Sells said in a release. "We look forward to working with Betfred to create fun, fan-focused activations that add to the excitement on gameday."

Ohio has made 85 licenses available in three categories - online betting (Type A), retail sportsbooks (Type B) and kiosk betting for bars/restaurants (Type C) - ahead of the scheduled launch of statewide sports betting Jan. 1, 2023.

BetMGM, PointsBet, DraftKings, betJACK, Barstool, FanDuel, Fanatics and BetRivers are among companies that have applied for Ohio licenses, the commission announced last week.
