Cincinnati Bengals take a dip in latest power rankings

After taking a nice step up in the power rankings into the top 20, the Bengals dropped back a bit after their 20-17 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 2.

Cincinnati entered Week 2 at No. 20 in Nate Davis’ power rankings. Coming out of Week 2, the Bengals fell four spots to No. 24, one spot behind the Bears team that just beat them, who moved up from No. 26.

Nate Davis wrote an interesting tidbit in his Bengals writeup:

The last team (before this one) to suffer a loss with QB Joe Burrow and WR Ja’Marr Chase in the lineup? How about the 2018 LSU squad that fell 74-72 to Texas A&M in seven overtimes.

As for the rest of the AFC North:

  • Cleveland stayed put at No. 4 after their 31-21 win over Houston

  • Baltimore shot all the way up from No. 18 to No. 7 after their huge Sunday night win over Kansas City

  • Pittsburgh, Cincinnati’s Week 3 opponent, remains at No. 8 after their home loss to Las Vegas
