The defending AFC champion Cincinnati Bengals open up the preseason hosting the Arizona Cardinals at Paycor Stadium at 7:30 p.m. on Local 12 (WKRC-TV).
Neither team is likely to play many starters. For the Bengals, quarterback Joe Burrow has yet to practice after an appendectomy, but the team is encouraged by his progress, according to a story from Enquirer beat reporter Kelsey Conway.
The Cardinals enter Friday's preseason game three weeks after quarterback Kyler Murray signed a five-year extension worth $230.5 million. The extension garnered controversy initially because it contained a so-called independent study clause, which has since been removed.
