Cincinnati Bengals signing free agent cornerback Sidney Jones

The Cincinnati Bengals are adding more depth to the secondary by singing cornerback Sidney Jones, according to a report by Jordan Schultz.

Jones. a 26-year-old Washington product, last played for the Las Vegas Raiders and was a second-round pick by the Philadelphia Eagles in 2017. A native of West Covina, California, Jones has four interceptions and has played in 57 games in his career.

Pro Football Focus rated Jones at 51.3 overall with a 74.6 grad in run defense, 63 in pass rush and 44.6 in coverage.

The Bengals' secondary will have a new look with two new starting safeties in Dax Hill and Nick Scott projected as the starting safeties. Top cornerback Chidobe Awuzie is recovering from a torn ACL and veteran Eli Apple is an unrestricted free agent.
