Ohio State has added a walk-on to its 2022-23 men’s basketball roster.

Owen Spencer, a Cincinnati native who spent the past two seasons at the Citadel, has joined the Buckeyes as a forward with three years of eligibility remaining. Listed at 6 feet 9, 205 pounds, Spencer is expected to add some extra size to Ohio State’s practices and give the Buckeyes an extra big body.

In two seasons at the Citadel, Spencer scored 20 points and grabbed 41 rebounds while totaling 175 minutes in 23 games. Last season, he averaged 0.8 points and 1.8 rebounds in 7.3 minutes while appearing in 12 games as the Bulldogs went 13-18.

A product of Turpin High School, Spencer averaged 11.0 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.6 blocks in 22 games as a senior and was named first-team all-conference and third-team all-district.
